Burning seral brush ranges for big game in northern Idaho

Extensive wildfires in the early 1900's in this region created thousands of acres of winter browse for wildlife (largely deer), but browse has declined as these areas revert by natural succession to conifer forest. Some preliminary results are given from a joint project of the Idaho Fish and Game Department and the U.S.
