For part 1 see Abst. 1817, Vol. 39. 2. Groups of 72 hens were given diets with 2.0, 2.2, 2.7 or 3.0% Ca. In hens with egg production less than 55% during 10 months those given the 2 smaller allowances of Ca laid heavier eggs, but the difference was less with more Ca. With 2.7% Ca. there was no difference between hens with different production and with 3.0% hens which laid more eggs laid heavier eggs also.
