Changes in polyphenoloxi-dase activity in the Cucumber mosaic virus-infected Tobacco leaves and its non-responsibility for the changes in virus concentration in vivo

In further studies on OMV-infected tobacco leaves, polyphenoloxidase (PPO) activity increased from the 8th to 21st day after inoculation when PPO was X2.5 higher than in healthy leaves; on the 28th day it was the same as on the 8th. The changes were inversely proportional to changes in symptoms and virus conc. in vivo.
