Changes in the nucleic acid content of Phaseolus vulgaris leaves after infection with Uromyces phaseoli var. typica

Changes in the nucleic acid content of Phaseolus vulgaris leaves after infection with Uromyces phaseoli var. typica

Phytopath. Z, 61: 191-6. bibl. 28

Studies on the primary leaves of Phaseolus vulgaris cy. Favorit showed that the total phosphate and nucleic acid contents were higher in leaves infected by rust, Uromyces phaseoli var. typica, than in comparable healthy leaves. The DNA content of rust-infected leaves rose only gradually up to the 7th day after infection, but then increased sharply between the 7th and 9th day.
