Abstract
Composition of dry matter (DM) of leaves of the biul tree (Grewia oppositifolia) in the Punjab, cut in November and January, was crude protein 17.0 and 17.1, ether extract 5.4 and 5.7, crude fibre 19-7 and 18.0, N-free extract 48.7 and 49.1, ash 9.2 and 10.0, Ca 2.84 and 2.75 and P 0.14 and 0.15%. The leaves had 48% DM. For 60 days 5 rams of average liveweight 18 kg at the start were fed on biul leaves as the only feed; average final weight was 22 kg.
