Chemical weed control in various salad crops: corn salad, lettuce, salad dandelion

The main herbicides evaluated for weed control in salad crops during 1966.68 were sulfallate, chlorpropham, benfluralin, monalide, linuron, prometryne, diquat and paraquat applied alone or in mixture. In corn salad (Valerianella olitorid) sown under plastic covers, monalide at 2 kg/ha applied pre-em. was the most effective of the herbicides tested although irrigation after treatment was essential.
