In a comparison of two diploid and two tetraploid populations, the latter exceeded the former by 34% in stoma length, 26% in pollen diameter, 17% in plant height, 15% in length of inflorescence, 25% in spikelet length, 22% in spikelet width, 21% in length of husked grain, 24% in width of husked grain, 21 % in length of caryopsis and 18% in width of caryopsis.
