In 15 Bulgarian White (B.W.) and 16 Landrace x (Large White x Landrace x B.W.) pigs resp., slaughter weight averaged 92.7 and 93.5 kg (P< 0.01), dressing percentage 70.6 and 70.2 (P<0.01), carcass length 94.1 and 96.0 cm (P< 0.001), backfat thickness 3.03 and 2.90 cm, eye-muscle area 26.7 and 28.4 cm2 (P<0.01), percentage of meat+bone in the half-carcass 66.2 and 66.7, and meat tenderness score 3.71 and 4.08 (P<0.01).
