Composition of humus and phosphate groups in layers of carbonate chernozem

Composition of humus and phosphate groups in layers of carbonate chernozem

Pochvovedenie 10, 30-36

In a 6-year model experiment (1958-63) in Moldavia, the A1 (0-25 cm), B (25-50 cm) and C (50-74 cm) horizons were placed in their natural relative positions (ABC) in a trench 75 cm deep, and a similar trench was filled entirely with soil from the ploughed layer (AAA). In the ABC soil, the ratio of humic acid to fulvic acid decreased with depth, and all the humic acid was bound to Ca.
