For 191 days 2 groups of 11 young fattening bulls of average bodyweight 181 kg were given a basal feed of hay and wheat chaff with wet beet slices, maize silage and swedes for the first 122 days and green feed in the final 69 days. All had 2 kg concentrate daily throughout, consisting of barley, oats and rye and 670 g rapeseed oilmeal or untreated oilmeal from Crambe abyssinica.
