Abstract
Several tillers of a plant grown from colchicine-treated seeds labelled as O. australiensis x O. alta were found to be autooctaploid (2n= 96). Pollen grains and meiosis in the octaploid were normal and morphological studies indicated that O. australiensis was not in fact involved in the cross.
