The microsporogenesis of the first back-cross generation of (O. sativa x O. officinalis) x O. sativa was similar to that of the F1 of O. sativa x O. officinalis, except that the extremely long spindle was rarely found in the back-cross generation. The genomic constitution of the back-cross generation was A AC.
