Raillietina (Raillietina) loeweni n.sp. from 190 of 260 Lepus californicus melanotis, and the cysticercoid from Pheidole sitarches campestris and P. bicarinata are described in the original thesis. The diagnoses of the subfamily Davaineinae and the genus Raillietina are emended to include those species, including R. loeweni, which have one row of rostellar hooks. Both New Zealand White and Dutch rabbits were suitable experimental hosts for R. loeweni. Prepatency in Dutch rabbits was 16 days.
