Statistical analysis of preservative content in 250 charges of Douglas Fir poles treated during one calendar year in one plant showed that the only factor significantly affecting the volume of preservative in the sampled zone was degree of pole seasoning before treatment. Factors studied were: kind of preservative, size of pole, time of year, and degree of seasoning.
