Effect of aerially-applied herbicides on Texas and Puerto Rico forests

Effect of aerially-applied herbicides on Texas and Puerto Rico forests

Weed Science, Urbana 18(1): 164-8

DOI: 10.1017/s0043174500077596

Aerial applications of 2, 4-D, 2, 4, 5-T, picloram and paraquat alone and in various combinations were made to forest sites in Texas and Puerto Rico during 1966. Paraquat at 6 and 12 lb./acre defoliated trees faster than the other herbicides but did not give long-term control. Picloram at 6 lb./acre defoliated a greater number of species than the other herbicides and defoliation extended over a longer period.
