Abstract
For 5 weeks female Wistar rats were given a diet deficient in choline or a stock diet, each with or without isocaloric solutions of ethanol, 1.5 ml per 100 g bodyweight, or of glucose by stomach tube at different intervals after which serum glutamic oxaloacetic transaminase (GOT), glutamic pyruvic transaminase (GPT) and lactic dehydrogenase (LD) activities and cholesterol, triglyceride and phospholipid in the liver were estimated.
