Abstract
Dry seeds of the pea varieties Pobeditel' and Kelvedon Wonder and of the tomato varieties Moldavskij rannij and Stambovyj karlik were treated with gamma rays, fast neutrons, N-nitroso-methylurea (NMU), N-nitrosoethylurea (NEU), dimethyl sulfate (DMS), diethyl sulfate (DES), ethyleneimine (EI), 1, 4-bis-diazoacetylbutane (DAB) and ethyl methanesulphonate (EMS). In the M1, the germination rate and plant height were particularly low in experiments with DMS, DES and NEU.
