The following is virtually the authors' abstract. A study was undertaken in Mississippi to compare the persistence of several droplet sizes of malathion applied in ultra-low-volume sprays to cotton leaves and the uptake of malathion by third-instar larvae of Heliothis virescens (F.) placed on leaves treated with droplets of various sizes from such sprays or from emulsion formulations.
