Effect of ensiling on amino acid contents of lucerne

Data are given on amino acids in fresh second-cut lucerne, and when ensiled with AIV acid, AAZ (HC1 + Na2SO4), sodium metabisulphite, Konpasil or no additive. Silage quality was very good with AIV acid, good with AAZ or metabisulphite, and moderate in the other treatments. Changes in amino acids during ensiling were least with the 2 acid additives and greatest with no additive. From Nutr. Abstr.
