Effect of mulches, levels of nitrogen and soil moisture conditions on growth and yield of cauliflower

During 2 seasons in New Delhi polythene mulch had a favourable effect on the growth and yield of cauliflowers, while straw mulch had an adverse effect. The application of N increased the growth and yield, especially when soil N was low. Soil moisture depletion beyond 50% of the available moisture had an adverse effect on growth and yield. Yield was not affected by variations in available moisture between 50% and 70%.
