Effect of prolonged use of organo-mineral fertilizer and depth of drainage on increase of biological activity of soil and on increase of productivity of hay meadow and pasture on fen peat

Effect of prolonged use of organo-mineral fertilizer and depth of drainage on increase of biological activity of soil and on increase of productivity of hay meadow and pasture on fen peat

Zesz. probl. Postep. Nauk roln, 72, 103-137

On drained fen peat in East Germany, average annual yields of dry matter and protein from grassland utilized for 6-7 years with systematic application of NPK or PK can be greater than corresponding yields from grassland utilized for a shorter time. On fen peat rich in sediments and silt, yields are greater when utilization is for 2-3 years only.
