Crossbred pigs were fattened from 20 to 100 kg, 2 groups restricted and 2 fed automatically. Of each pair one group had 2 different meals changed at 50 kg liveweight and the other had 3, changed at 50 and 70 kg. Groups did not differ in efficiency, carcass yield or thickness of back fat. Pigs fed to appetite reached slaughter weight 18 days sooner. (From summary.)-T.
