Effect of temperature on the growth of wheat. II. Grass-clump dwarf and dwarf varieties

Effect of temperature on the growth of wheat. II. Grass-clump dwarf and dwarf varieties

Canad. J. Bot 47(1): 1-8

In a study of six F1 "grass-clump" hybrids, two "grass-clump" selections, the three normal varieties Timstein, Redman and Federation and the three dwarf varieties Sonora 64, CB151 and Norm 10, the "grass-clump" dwarf hybrids and selections differed from the normal varieties in that they were sterile and dwarfed when grown at low temperatures, but grew to normal height when cultivated above a threshold temperature.
