Effect of test frequency on accuracy of estimates of lactation milk yield

Effect of test frequency on accuracy of estimates of lactation milk yield

Agronomia trop 20(6): 463-469

(i) 736 lactation records (120-359 days) of Dairy Criollo and (ii) 98 lactation records of American Brown Swiss cows, extending over the period 1955-65, were analysed separately for each breed to determine the relative accuracy of estimates of milk production based on weekly, fortnightly and monthly tests. (i) records were classified into 8 groups on the basis of length of lactation; for each of these groups estimates computed by the 3 methods are given together with measured yields.
