Effect of urea treated with nitrification inhibitor on nitrogen uptake and yield of rice under different methods and split application of nitrogen

In field trials in 1967 with rice Taichung Native-la urea at 150 kg N/ha was applied (a) broadcast, (b) incorporated to a depth of 6 cm, or (c) applied in pellet form, alone or with 1.5 kg N-Serve/ha or 7.5 kg AM/ha, in a single application at transplanting. 2 applications (half at transplanting, half at heading) or 3 applications (at transplanting, heading and flowering). Yields of grain and straw and uptake of N were significantly increased by both N-Serve and AM.
