Average amounts of feed, with corresponding calculated amounts of saturated and unsaturated FA contents, fed to 7 cows before parturition are tabulated, together with variations in FA composition of lipids in colostrum sampled daily for 7 days and milk sampled monthly for 10 months. The average total unsaturated FA was slightly higher in colostrum and in late and early lactation milk than in milk of mid-lactation.
