Abstract of thesis from University of Minnesota. Mulching with clear polyethylene film, black film, white film, sawdust + clear film or sawdust alone had no significant effect on organic matter in the soil, runner production or berry size. Sawdust, clear film + sawdust, and white film significantly increased soil-moisture levels. Soil pH was higher under sawdust and clear film + sawdust than under clear film or clean cultivation.
