Four simplified starting diets based on maize and soya bean meal with 16, 17, 18 or 20% crude protein and 4 complex diets with similar crude protein contents, based on maize, soya bean meal, sucrose, dried skimmed milk and fishmeal were given freely to pigs from 3 to 9 weeks of age.
