For part 2 see Abst. 1436, Vol. 32. 3. Merino ewes, 12 from a flock selected for high clean wool weight and 12 chosen at random, were fed individually on chaffed lucerne restricted or to appetite. Clean wool production, absolute and per unit intake of gross energy (GE), with either type of feeding were greater in the selected group, significantly for production per unit intake on restricted feeding.
