Abstract
Brahman bulls about 2 years old in 3 groups of 10 were individually fed to appetite on a basal liquid diet with final molasses 70 and urea 3% and 1 kg high-protein concentrate with salt and bone meal daily. One group got elephant grass Pennisetum purpureum, another rice straw to appetite and the third got rice straw at 1% of liveweight. The bulls were killed at 440 kg.
