Abstract
Lucerne silage made in concrete silos with the addition of 0.4% or 0.6% sodium benzoate, or 3.0% silo acid (10 1 Pb- and As-free concentrated sulfuric acid + 1.5 kg rock salt in 100 1 water), was of high quality, but silage made without additives was of low quality (higher pH and butyric acid content, lower lactic and acetic acid and alcohol contents).
