Environmental modification of heritable resistance to potato virus gamma in peppers (Capsicum annuum)

Crosses were made between resistant and susceptible varieties using Yolo gamma and Puerto Rico Wonder as sources of resistance. All the resistant varieties tested and the resistant breeding material derived from the crosses were completely resistant to the virus in both greenhouse and field tests during the summer but became susceptible during the winter.
