Evidence on the stage of heat induced crossover effect in maize

, : Evidence on the stage of heat induced crossover effect in maize. Genetics 60(2): 353-362

Heat treatments were applied to micro-sporocytes at various stages of meiotic development of maize heterozygous for a translocation with one break in the proximal region of the long arm of the nucleolus organizer chromosome. Frequencies of microspore quartets normal for nucleolus distribution were estimated for treated and control plants.
