Exploitation of genetic variability in Punjab-American cotton 320F (Gossypium hirsutum var. latifolium)

Since 1954 cross pollination has produced wide variability in 320F as a result of extensive commercial cultivation. Harland's method of mass pedigree selection has been used to improve the variety. From 441 plants initially screened in 1962-63, two progeny bulks were obtained which maintained their superiority over 320F in mean halo length and ginning percentage when tested in 1964-65.
