Tessaratoma papillosa (Dru.) is an important pest of litchi (Litchi chinensis) and lungyan (Euphorbia longana) in southern China, injuring the flowers and young fruits. No means of control was known until a few years ago, when trichlorphon was found to be very toxic to the Pentatomid and was the best of 20 compounds tested in the field. The susceptibility of the insects changes during the year, however, so that time of application is important.
