Fusarium blight and smooth-stalked meadow-grass

Fusarium blight and smooth-stalked meadow-grass

U.S.G.A. Green Section Rec, 7: 7

Fusarium roseum was identified as the cause of a severe blight of Merion smooth-stalked meadow-grass and of a lesser infection of annual meadow-grass and creeping bent. Trichoderma viride was associated with F. roseum, particularly under dry soil conditions. At higher moisture levels lesions and signs of fungal proliferation did not persist. Plants inoculated with F. roseum alone appeared to recover after clipping; where T. viride was inoculated alone a stress condition followed chlorosis.
