Gas exchange studies on the transpiration and photosynthesis of Tomato leaves affected by Fusarium oxysporum f.sp. lycopersici

At Aust. Natn. Univ., Canberra, photosynthesis and transpiration of Bonny Best tomato plants were unaffected by host-pathogen interaction following root inoculation with F. o. f.sp. lycopersici race 1 until 15 days after inoculation, when both processes showed marked reductions. An increase in stomatal resistance and a large increase in intracellular resistance to CO2 diffusion caused the reduction in photosynthesis, and preceded the onset of water stress.
