Data were analysed on 10 Cheju (Korean Black), 54 Brahman, 6 Santa Gertrudis (S.G.), 31 Brahman x Cheju, and 22 S.G. x Cheju calves. For the 5 groups resp., body weight averaged 20.40, 24.85, 27.99, 23.92 and 24.40 kg at birth, 60.47, 81.70, 75.20, 71.62 and 67.02 kg at 3 mth of age, and 87.75, 126.28, 122.64, 108.66 and 100.03 kg at 6 mth. At the 3 ages, the crossbred cattle were significantly heavier than the Chejus, the body weights approximating to the mid-parent averages.
