In Liverpool white rats experimentally infected with Litomosoides carinii, golden hamsters infected with sub-periodic Brugia malayi and cotton-rats, Delhi white rats and multimammate rats infected with B. pahangi, the spleen played no part in the destruction of microfilariae.
