Of 340 calves received for diagnosis from March 1963 to Dec. 1965, 38.5% were stillborn, 10% had died 1-2 days after birth, and 48-3% had survived longer; no survival data were given for the remainder. The most important malformations were: muscle contracture, 60 cases; atresia ani, 31; schistosoma reflexum. 22; mummification, 19; hydrocephalus and gastroschisis, each 17; hydrops congenita universalis, 15; hairlessness and "withered hindquarters", each 11.
