Ludwig-Maximilians-Univ. Munchen: Inaug. Diss., 43

An analysis was made of data obtained by the author and the Department of Animal Health in Weiden from 2, 463 herds with 14, 326 cows. Schalm test-positive milk was found in 797 herds and bacteriological infection in 1, 032 herds in which the milk was negative to the Schalm test. The causative organisms were Str. agalactiae in 124 herds, Str. dysgalactiae in 18, Str. pyogenes in 1, staphylococci in 299 and non-specific organisms in 760 herds.
