Incorporation and distribution of 52Mn from different Mn salts in laying hens

Incorporation and distribution of 52Mn from different Mn salts in laying hens

Arch. Tierernahrung. 17: 69-79

In 9 h after the injection of 52Mn into the crop of laying hens 3.8% of that given as MnCl2 and 3.0% of that given as oxide was recovered from the body outside the digestive tract. By 27 h the amounts were 1.8 and 2.4% and there was no significant difference. The 52Mn present in MnCl2 was more readily absorbed and excreted than that in the oxide; that in MnSO4 was intermediate.
