Incorporation of S into blood serum and milk proteins in goats

(i) l group of 3 goats received by stomach tube a single dose of 0.3 mu Ci/g body wt. as methionine and (ii) a 2nd group received similarly the same dose as (NH4)235SO4. Blood and milk samples were taken every h for 8 h during the 1st day of experiment, and thereafter daily for 7 days. Mean values with SEM are tabulated for radioactivity contents ( mu Ci/g) of blood and milk serum protein fractions at the intervals stated. Incorporation was -3x more efficient into (i) than into (ii).
