Increase in thickness of back fat in growing boars

Increase in thickness of back fat in growing boars

Ann. Zootech, 14: 391-399

Thickness of back fat was measured ultrasonically at the shoulder, back and loin of 29 Large White boars every 14 days from 40 to 100 kg liveweight and on the carcases of 24 of them at the back and loin. The pigs were fed to appetite 3 times a day on the standard feed of the progeny testing station.
