Nutrient and energy requirements of cows in relation to milk yield are discussed. Tabulations include a table of gross, metabolizable and productive energy requirements of cows weighing 500-600 kg for the milk yield range 6-40 kg 4% FCM (760 kcal/kg), and a table of nutrient composition of 1 energetic feed unit for gross (4100 kcal), metabolizable (2500 kcal) or productive (1414 kcal) energy.
