Indices of the carcass composition of Dorset Horn top-cross lambs. 3. Relationships between chemical composition, specific gravity and weight of carcasses and joints

Indices of the carcass composition of Dorset Horn top-cross lambs. 3. Relationships between chemical composition, specific gravity and weight of carcasses and joints

J. Agric. Sci, 66: 41-47

For part 2 see Abst. 2134, Vol. 36. 3. For 11 Dorset Horn x Border Leicester x Merino lambs 3 to 5 months of age weight of half-carcase was significantly correlated with ash, moisture, protein and fat contents of the half-carcase and of the loin cut. There were significant correlations also between chemical compositions of loin and loin with leg and of the carcase.
