When the window-to-floor area ratios for 6 groups of Rhode Island Reds were 1: 2.5, 1: 3.5, 1: 5.0, 1: 10.5, 1: 13.6 and 1: 21.7 resp., 90-day body weight averaged 623.5, 784.0, 870.6, 1028.1, 1103.2 and 1057.6 g for and 776.8, 936.8, 1038.3 1077.6, 1130.1 and 1076.0 g for, food consumption per kg live weight averaged 6.07, 5.91, 5.75, 5.63, 5.302 and 5.308 kg, and number of eggs laid in the 1st production year averaged 125, 134, 139, 142, 155 and 104 resp.
