In pot experiments in 1965-7 Festuca pratensis, Dactylis glomerata and Lolium perenne were grown at 2 levels of N and 5 of soil-moisture content and subjected to drought at various stages of plant development. Responses varied with species but growth, development and nutritive value were markedly affected by treatments.
