Influence of primary (parasite) hosts on host selection of the hyperparasite Cheiloneurus noxius (Hymenoptera : Encyrtidae)

Influence of primary (parasite) hosts on host selection of the hyperparasite Cheiloneurus noxius (Hymenoptera : Encyrtidae)

Annals of the Entomological Society of America. 64: 6, 1233-1236

The following is virtually the author's abstract. The oviposition-related behaviour of females of Cheiloneurus noxius Comp., a hyperparasite of unarmoured scale insects, was observed in the United States and quantified by presenting them with examples of Coccus hesperidum L. that were either unparasitised or parasitized by larvae or pupae of Diversinervus elegans Silv.
