Inheritance of grain quality in sixth-generation hybrids of interspecific and intraspecific hybrids of bread wheat

Triticum aestivum 'Pseudomeridionale 122' was pollinated with representatives of several different species. F6 families with protein contents of 18.0-19.9% occurred among the hybrids with T. dicoccum, T. spelta and T. turanicum and also in hybrids of T. sphaerococcum x T. compactum; in the last combination and in Pseudomeridionale 122 x Tom Thumb, swelling indices of 41-48 ml. were recorded.
